The University of Newcastle has established the South Asia Excellence Scholarship to encourage top students to enroll in undergraduate or graduate coursework degree programs.
This merit-based award is available to students from South Asian nations who have been offered a full-time position in a non-quota program at the University of Newcastle. The prize is presented to individuals with great academic backgrounds in order to encourage them to continue pushing themselves to be the best.

Eligible Programs
South Asia Excellence Scholarship is a program designed to reward high-achieving overseas students, and it is only offered for the following courses:
Applicants must be starting an approved undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at the University of Newcastle (excluding ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, and Higher Degrees by Research programs, as well as programs delivered at offshore campuses) in one of the following colleges:
Engineering Science and the Environment College
Health Medicine and Wellbeing College
Human and Social Futures College
Countries in Eligibility
Students of the following nations qualify:
Afghanistan \s Bangladesh
Bhutan

The country of Sri Lanka.
The Advantage of a Scholarship Award
The university will supply all of the following:
This equates to AU$ 1250 for ten units of study.
Tuition fee exemptions will be applied to the recipient’s university student account to apply the award benefit.
South Asia Excellence Scholarship is generally intended for undergraduate or postgraduate students.
The total number of awards is 100.
Criteria for Eligibility
To be considered for the South Asia Excellence Scholarship, all applicants must meet the following requirements:
South Asian passport holders from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are eligible to apply.
Candidates must be overseas students who pay the full tuition.
Applicants must begin an eligible program at an Australian or online campus, as mentioned in your Letter of Offer.
Applicants must not be the recipient of another University scholarship unless a prior special dispensation has been approved by the university.
If scholarship eligibility is not maintained, candidates must meet all financial requirements of a full-fee paying foreign student, including the full tuition price and any additional expenditures to get a student visa.
Candidates are not permitted to enroll in a program with an excluded quota.

Applicants must apply online using the Newcastle application site.
This scholarship has no application process. When a student meets the scholarship conditions and applies to the university, the application is made automatically.
Documents that back up your claim: Applicants may be required to provide all of the following:
Certification of completion of a college transcript
Biometric passport page demonstrating English competence
For programs that need job experience, a curriculum vitae (CV), résumé, and/or letters of recommendation are recommended.
If you want to request credit for earlier learning, you must provide course or subject descriptions.
Requirements for entry: Applicants who wish to enroll in one of the University of Newcastle’s undergraduate or graduate coursework degree programs must be extended an offer. Applicants must first register for the Student Portal in order to submit an application.
Candidates must meet the English requirements of the University of Newcastle in order to enroll in courses there.
