“Every now and then a man’s mind is stretched by a new idea or sensation, and never shrinks back to its former dimensions.”
―Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr
I see some of the neatest design-related things on Instagram. Thought I’d share a few here in case you missed ’em or aren’t on IG!
I literally gasped when I saw this DIY chandelier on Olive and Ford’s feed:
It’s an off-the-shelf crystal chandelier from Home Depot, and an orb made out of some rusty, old barrel straps. Isn’t it gorgeous?
This photo in Kate’s feed stopped me in my tracks too:
That fixture is made out of jute twine, hula hoops and a $40 chandelier from Ikea. HULA HOOPS! How cool is that!? 😀
My head nearly exploded when this next pic popped up in my feed:
It was posted by Kristine from The Painted Hive. Here’s another pic of the piece she Instagrammed:
…and because I know you’ll want to know how she did it.
I stared at this next Insta-photo of Kristine’s for a good long while too:
SO sweet, and would you believe that’s a DESK LAMP on the wall! #genius
And when I read the caption under this next photo in Jess Wasserman’s feed and found out these carrara-look counters were LAMINATE? Boom! #MindBlown
And when I found out the STUNNING “wood” floors throughout her whole house are ALSO laminate, and available at Lowes?
#HiHoHiHoIt’sOffToLowesIGo 😀
(I’ve been on the hunt for flooring for Kevin’s parents, and after Jess’s glowing review, I think that’s exactly what we’re going to go with! It’s called Handscraped Hickory and it’s made by Swiftlock.)
And Farmhouse For Four’s wallpapered fridge pic?
One hashtag springs straight to mind:
#AllTheHeartEyes ?
